Code of Conduct
At Spelthorne Sports Club, we strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment whilst engaging in both sporting and social activities.
To maintain a positive atmosphere, we expect everyone (including members, guests, players, officials, supporters and staff) to adhere to the following code of conduct.
Respect For Others
- Treat everyone involved in the clubhouse and sporting activity (including players, coaches, officials, club members, guests and staff) with respect and
courtesy.
- Avoid any form of discrimination, including (but not limited to) race, gender, age, disability, religion or sexual orientation.
- Encourage and support fair play, teamwork, positive competition and politeness.
Fair Play
- Play by the game both in letter and spirit.
- Accept and respect the decisions of the officials; understanding that they are impartial and have the best interest of the game in mind.
- Do not engage in any form of cheating or intentionally breaking the rules.
- Acknowledge and applaud good performances, regardless of the team or individual involved.
Positive sideline / spectator behaviour
- Encourage and support all participants by offering positive and constructive feedback.
- Avoid using abusive, offensive or derogatory language towards anyone either on or off the field.
- Refrain from making personal attacks or comments that may incite conflict.
- Applaud good play and efforts from both teams; showing appreciation for the game/sport.
Safety & Wellbeing
- Prioritise the safety and well-being of all individuals, both in the field of play and the clubhouse.
- Follow all safety guidelines and instructions, provided by the club and the respective sports’ governing bodies.
- Report incidents of misconduct or any safety concerns promptly to the club officials.
- Support fair treatment and inclusivity. Ensuring that no-one feels threatened, bullied or isolated.
Club / Clubhouse Environment
- Respect the facilities, equipment and property of the club; along with its members and staff.
- Dispose of litter responsibly and maintain cleanliness.
- Abide by any additional rules or regulations set forth by the club therefore ensuring the smooth functioning of the organisation.
